Work has started on the third new primary school to be developed as part of the North Solihull Regeneration programme.

Kier Moss, part of the Kier Group, are now on site at St Anne's school, Bosworth Drive.  Work has started putting in foundations for the new building, which will replace the current school.

The new school opens in September 2010, while the old building will be demolished to make way for new playing fields.

St Anne's  is being built as part of the North Solihull Regeneration scheme, which will see all primary schools in the north of the borough being replaced with 10 state of the art schools which will benefit both pupils and the local community.

Programme Director, Ian Cox, said: "I am delighted that we have now started work on our third new primary school. It's an exciting development for us, and for the children and staff here at St Anne's. We've always said that the schools programme lies at the very heart of this regeneration scheme, and I look forward to next September when the doors open and allow the first pupils to enjoy their brand new school."

Brian Clarke director, from Kier Moss, who are building the school, said "Following our work at Merstone and Forest Oak schools locally, we are pleased to be again working in the Chelmsley Wood area of the borough."
