Vote to Name New Village Centre

Chelmsley Wood residents are being encouraged by North Solihull Partnership to take part in a public vote to decide the name of their new village centre, at Craig Croft.  Voting runs from 5 to 21 February ballot boxes and voting forms are available at a number of venues across the area.

Members of the public and local groups have put forward their suggestions for names for the new village centre. 

Chelmsley Wood Town Council's shortlist is:

  • Craig Croft
  • Craig Park
  • Dunster Croft

The Chelmsley in Partnership Residents Group and the Residents Implementation Group choice is Chelmund's Cross.  The four choices are:

  • Chelmund's Cross Village Centre                         
  • Craig Croft Village Centre
  • Craig Park Village Centre                                       
  • Dunster Croft Village Centre

If you want to have a say on the new Village Centre name, you can pop into one your local voting stations and make a mark next to your favourite option. Voting runs from 5 to 21 February, so don't delay, vote now.

The village centre will be made up of a new primary school, shops, a health centre, pharmacy, dentist and offices.  The offices will include an Enterprise Centre offering office space to small and start-up businesses. Plans for the village centre also contain an open space area with outside seating to provide a high quality public space.  All these elements will be closely linked to the housing development already completed in the area.

The scheme has been part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
