Public Consultation Events

The North Solihull Partnership is spearheading significant investment in Smith's Wood, Kingshurst and Chelmsley Wood to improve the physical and economic prosperity of the area, and to provide employment and training opportunities for residents.

This investment has seen the construction of new schools, village centres, enhanced green spaces and housing for sale and rent which has all been underpinned by our Socio Economic Works programme providing employment and training opportunities.

Over the coming months we will be developing our plans for the next phase of housing development sites, and to do so wish to share our initial designs with local residents to understand your views and opinion on our proposals.

We will be holding a series of local events in each of the Wards where the sites are located, concentrating on the sites within that ward, but also showing plans for our proposed developments in adjacent areas, to give residents the flexibility to attend any of the events being held to comment on all of the proposed sites.

The Wards in which the sites are located are:

  • Smith's Wood - North Arran Way 13 and Woodlands Highway
  • Kingshurst - Overgreen Drive and Birmingham Road
  • Chelmsley Wood - Bishop Wilson School phase 2 and Craig Croft 10

The time and venue for the meetings are as follows:

North Arran Way 13 (shopping centre on Arran Way) and Woodlands Highway

TUESDAY 16th SEPTEMBER 2014 between 1pm and 7pm at the Excellence in the Community Centre, St John the Baptist RC School, Arran Way, Smith's Wood, B36 0UE

Overgreen Drive and Birmingham Road

WEDNESDAY 17th SEPTEMBER 2014 between 1pm and 7pm at the Pavilions Sporting Club, Meriden Drive, B37 6BH

THURSDAY 18th SEPTEMBER 2014 between 1pm and 7pm at the Excellence in the Community Centre, Bishop Wilson CoE School, Chelmunds Cross Chelmsley Wood, B37 7TR

Whilst each venue has a focus on the sites specified above, the relevant information will be displayed, and comments taken, for all sites at each event.

Sharing our proposals with the local community is an important part of the planning process. We want to hear your views and will consider all comments and feedback that we receive before we submit a planning application.
