Hat-Trick of New Show Homes at Burton's Farm Park, Smith's Wood

(8th April 2008)

The doors have now been opened to a trio of new show homes at Burton's Farm Park, the first new homes to be built in Smith's Wood for well over a decade.

Located off Tamar Drive, the 65 houses and apartments form part of the £1.8bn Regenerating North Solihull project, and it is expected the opening of the three professionally styled show homes will drive significant interest in this already hugely popular development.

With 17 of the homes already sold to buyers keen to take advantage of the value for money available at the scheme, the launch of the three and four-bedroom show homes will give potential purchasers the chance to see first hand the modern design and space available in the detached and semi-detached designs.

Ben Wright, director for Bellway Homes South Midlands, said: "Burton's Farm Park has already been a great success with homebuyers. The release of the 'Aldwich', 'Kingsbury' and 'Kentmere' show homes will give those looking for a larger property the chance to see first hand how far their money will go in North Solihull.

"With prices starting at just £175,000 for the three-bedroom 'Kingsbury' design, the homes offer some of the best value anywhere in the region.  Indeed, a number of purchasers have remarked the homes offer a standard of living that was beyond their initial expectations for the price range."

In addition to the great value homes available, part of the success of Burton's Farm Park has been attributed to its location within the North Solihull regeneration zone.  The development is within easy walking distance of the proposed North Arran Way Village Centre in Smith's Wood, which has already received outline planning permission for £20million of new shopping and community facilities – including the new Kingfisher Primary School, which is well under way with its construction programme. Nearby, a new state-of-the-art building for Smith's Wood Sports College is also due for completion in summer 2009.

The scheme has been designed in conjunction with the North Solihull Partnership's Design Champion, Jim Chapman and acclaimed landscape architect Munro & Whitten Ltd. New high quality open space will surround the new houses, which will provide direct links to the proposed North Arran Way Village Centre.

Burton's Farm Park comprises one two-bedroom coach house, 16 three-bedroom houses and nine four-bedroom homes across a wide range of house designs which are all built to the Eco Homes very good standard.  The terraced, semi-detached and detached homes are complimented by five apartment buildings, each featuring a selection of one and two bedroom properties.

Many of the homes have a clear view of the central open space at Burton's Farm Park, part of the desire to place greater importance on people and family recreation areas.  The first new homes are expected to be ready for occupation within the next couple of weeks and the entire scheme is due for completion in July 2009.

Specification features at Burton's Farm Park include contemporary kitchens with integrated appliances. For early bird buyers, Bellway is offering a choice of kitchen doors, worktops and wall tiles. Designer bathrooms feature white sanitaryware and shaving points, while tv and telephone points are fitted to living rooms and master bedrooms. All houses and apartments benefit from gas central heating, which is generally the preferred method of heating compared to electric storage heaters. For convenience and security, audio door entry systems are fitted to the apartments.

The North Solihull Partnership, which is delivering the Regenerating North Solihull programme, consists of Solihull Council, regeneration specialist Inpartnership, Whitefriars Housing Group and housebuilder Bellway. Chief executive Janet Bradbury, said: "The unveiling of the three show homes at Burton's Farm Park continues the high level of momentum we have established for the current phase of development in North Solihull.

"The provision of new, modern, family-sized homes to the local area is such a major aim of the project, enabling local people to stay in the area as they choose to move up the property ladder.  The show homes offer a chance for potential purchasers to see the type of home available to them first hand."

The Burton's Farm Park sales office is open daily between 10am – 5pm, located off Tamar Drive in Smith's Wood, North Solihull. The sales negotiator Julie Gallagher can be contacted on 0121 747 9082.
